A beautiful branding session with Kristina Varela in the Bishop Arts District for her blog, The Lovely Journey. The variety of colors, textures, and vibes in Bishop Arts allowed us to capture multiple styles, backgrounds, and moods in a single session! These images provided several months of social media promotions and lasting impressions on her blog. Kristina is such a kind and loving person! Definitely one of my favorite sessions!

A Global Pandemic Can’t Stop Love! /  by Conleigh Bauer

In April of last year, I had the honor of photographing Matt and Mimi’s beautifully intimate, outdoor, socially-distanced wedding.

While this might not have been the wedding they imagined, Matt & Mimi both full-heartedly embraced the change in plans. A global pandemic can’t stop love! The day was filled with love and laughter. A select group gathered lakefront in a beautiful park near Matt & Mimi’s home. The Justice of the Peace conducted the ceremony over Zoom. Their far-away friends and family shared in the event by witnessing over the live feed. The couple exchanged their vows and shared their first kiss as well-wishers typed their congratulations (and marriage advice) in the chat.

Following the ceremony, we took a slow walk around the park to capture memorable portraits of the newlywed couple. Then popped some champagne in celebration!

This was my first and only experience photographing an intimate COVID wedding, but I'm so honored to witness the event. Congratulations Matt & Mimi!

The week before the world shut down in 2020, my friends and I took a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate the next decade in Angela’s life. After the bright lights and spectacle of the strip, we snuck off to Red Rock Canyon for some down-to-earth outdoor adventuring.

The weather had other plans. It was cold, rainy, and we all bought matching windbreakers from the gift shop because no one had packed appropriately for this type of weather. Once the rain let up, we were able trek on.

Considering the weather, I’m ecstatic these portraits came out so well! Our hike was limited, but the natural beauty of Red Rock Canyon led to an incredible experience. While we didn’t always know where we were going, the rain left the mountains soft, misty, and magical. The landscape was beautiful. We were together.

I live in Texas. They live in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, etc. We didn’t know it at the time, but this Vegas trip was our last opportunity to connect in-person for a very, very long time. Video chats (while better than nothing!) just aren’t the same. However, this trip was filled with so much laughter, friendship, and good feelings to keep me going during the very difficult changes to come.
